Davey gives her an acknowledging nod. "Pleasure to make ye acquaintance, Ms. Zhukov. Ye be brave to speak out against me, I give ye that. Ye do make some valid points that ye friends would be wise to heed. Aye, I be a skeleton, that be rather abnormal. Aye, I did mention a war, though truth be told it only pertains to somewhere around 5-10 people. But nay, I don't be a pirate."
Davey grin somehow seems to widen, as he says, "I be the pirate. So aye, all in all ye be having good reason to decline me offer. However, before ye make ye decision, know this: I may be the greatest pirate to ever sail this earth, but I be far from the worst thing this world has to offer. My way is simple; I see something I want, I take it. That doesn't mean that I cause needless harm to get it. The other contestants however?" Davey shrugs. "They are just as likely to be more monstrous than even I as not. I cannot speak to what harm they seek upon people beyond this war. Now,"
Davey leans forward somewhat, until he is on a closer eye-level to Josie. "I be very honest about me wants. And I do not ask for ye labour for free. Ye may leave if ye wish. But consider that I may be the only line of defence ye harbour may have against the other mages fighting this war. And while I am likely to leave once I win this war, I cannot make the same promise to any other mage who may win. More than payment however, I be offering ye a way to make a difference. If that doesn't matter to ye, then be me guest and leave, but if not, know that when ye see the news in a few days and see a list of casualties that ye knew ye might have prevented, know that ye had a chance to possibly stop it."
With that, Davey stands back up to his full height, awaiting her response.
