You've been awarded 3 CCPs for winning a battle! Make sure to note it down! Daytime Phase day 10. Blake painfully walks through the city districts at night, one heavy step at a time. She almost loses consciousness several times on the way there, but her family keeps her conscious. Soon she can see the park in the distance. Just a few more steps… As she enters the park she notices that she is walking alone. Her pets have collapsed just at the edge of the park in the grass. It seems like yesterday’s battle took more out of them than at first glance. (Your pets are unable to act this phase due to the fever) Blake needs to get medical attention this phase or she will have to pass a 9+ Vitality check or else she will die. What do you do for your daytime phase?

Blake looks around the tent at all the new treasure as she speaks hoarsely. "Hi, it's been a while Mr.Brooker. I see you have done well in your endeavours, even with the city in chaos... Do you happen to know any medical professionals? I'm in pretty big need of one."

The Broker smiles and gets up, pulling out a chair and motioning for Blake to sit down. "Ah, miss Blake. You are in luck! I recently made the acquaintance of a very talented doctor, one of the foremost experts in his field in fact. I would be more than happy to set up a meeting, but I must ask... What are you willing to pay for such an encounter?"

Blake accepts his offer and sits down, leaning heavily on the chair "Well, I have some jewlery I recently got from a certain count. He... probably won't be a client for y'all anymore. He worse off than me at the moment. There is this Walter guy going around killing mages, you know how it is."

Blake wearily lets him look at her wounds "Well... a golem was involved. I can tell you everything about it if you help me get patched up. I could also tell you why the pirate disappeared."

The Broker grins at you, and says "I'm sure you could, Miss Blake. Alas, I'm afraid you won't be able to..." Without warning, the Broker starts channeling a spell against you, and you can feel your soul being drained. (You can only defend against this attack using Willpower. The Broker rolled a 9, and so did you, so you are still alive! Unfortunately, the Mage-tether is now active. You cannot escape from this fight until the Broker is dead.)

(Lol, I though he was a npc, then a player, then back to a npc again and now he's a player, damn. That's hilarious but also ouch for Blake. Also krya, hope ye get well soon.) Realising she made a huge mistake Blakes instincts kick in, she can't just give up and die quietly. Casting an illusion on the mage she tries to confuse him to think that he already sucked all the life out of Blake. Then as he lets his guard down she tries to violently bite and stab at the shady man, determined to at least do some damage to the man killing her.

(Yeah, I felt really bad when you decided to go to him for medical help after that really close win :P) (Do remember that the Mage tether would not break if you feign death, so it's not very likely to succeed. You can still try and hope it works, but you may be better attacking using your Necromancy stat like you did with the Count. Ultimately up to you though!)

(Yeah, haha such is life^^. It would be really cool to try and use the necromancy stat, maybe I can get a bit more damage on him. I mostly wanted to confuse him so I could land a shot for sure but I think your idea may be smarter tbh.)

Blake uses her necromancy to try and strengthen her dying body one last time and let's her feral instincts take over stabbing, clawing and biting at the shady man

(Ah, you only got a 7. You could re-roll but may wanna save them for defensive rolls since he only needs a single hit to kill you at this point)

The Broker evades your attack and rolls to the other side of the tent, sending a bolt of dark energy at you. (He got a 14. How would you like to defend?) (edited)

(Evading and dodging is pretty much Blakes only hope) Trying to dodge the dark bolt Blake rolls towards corner of the tent and quickly tries to cut some of the ropes supporting the tents roof making the tent partly collapse.

(Got a 9 on the re-roll. Rerolling again got you a 19. You only have 1 CCP left now right? With collapsing the tent, I imagine you want to prevent him from moving around and attacking you? I imagine both of you would need to pass a 9+ agility check or become restrained)

(I think I gotta gamble on it, if I could use my stealth and stuff I could probably hit him once at least but then I would first have to get out of his sight which... but yeah the odds are not looking great for Blake doing anything.) (edited)

(Okay! You successfully prevent being trapped by the collapsed tent, but the Broker fails the test and is now restrained underneath the tent. If they fail to get out you should have an easier time trying to hit him!)

You feel an intense amount of magic coming from the Broker and suddenly he blasts everything around him with magical energy. The tent is torn apart and no longer restrain him, and the explosion threatens you as well! (I imagine you evade. You got an 8 to Evade, with the re-roll you succeed but you are now out of CCPs.)

(Ok, here goes...) With nowhere left to run Blake tries to use her illusion magic to turn herself invisible, use her stealth and sneak up behind the Broker for one last attack. Well behind the man she grabs him, stabs him in the chest and bites his neck.

(This would be a two-turn process. one for going invisible, one for the attack)

(If you go invisible you can go invisible on a 9+ illusion check. If you succeed you get to make a stealth check with a +2 Mod every turn for free)

The Broker looks around for you... (You rolled a nat 1 for your stealth check! You have to choose an awful outcome for the critical failure. Whatever comes to mind with regards to failing the stealth check really badly) (edited)

(Hahah, luck did not want to help me today^^) While sneaking around the Broker Blake trips over her own feet and falls face first into a metal pole. The pole gets a dent from Blake's head and she knocks herself out suffering a serious injury. As her body hits the ground it seems that the brokers earlier magic attack damaged the infrastructure somehow, the ground cracks and collapses and Blake falls down, her body snapping several times along the way just land on top of a rock pile. The compass slips out of Blake's pocket at the end, but doesn't get damaged, landing at her side.

(Ouch. You sure you want it to go that badly? You basically got a second chance to decide the bad outcome yourself rather than me deciding for you. So you don't have to go that badly. Maybe something like "You trip and lose concentration on your illusion spell"?) (But that being said, things are looking incredibly bad so I can understand maybe wanting to call the fight here, so your call!)

(That's really nice of you^^, I think the broker has deserved his win, it was fun getting to destroy his tent though. I went in a bit extra for the drama of it all, trying to give it a satisfying end, I could also let the broker get the killing blow on Blake either way is good (Do you think his player would be happier with that?) But if I roll a 1 in this situation I think I kinda deserve to die, hahah)

Unable to move away with her teeth in The Broker's neck, she fails to resist The Broker's life drain. She falls limp, her teeth still stuck in his neck as he removes Blake from him and Blake collapses on the floor.

(Unfortunately, thus ends Blake's journey! It was a blast to GM for you. I was rooting for you 'til the end! You even had a squad of cheerleaders in the ghost-chat! I'll invite you to that channel now!)
