Daytime Phase day 5. After a long, painful process you are once again brought into the world of the living. Much quicker than was expected. Then again, this was probably a move of desperation on your part, as you know that it is inevitable that the Magus Organization will be right on your heels. For now you need to decide where the Phylactery will be put to start the regeneration process of your ship. As you give off a sigh or relief, you once again get that uncomfortable tugging feeling, as if something is snatching away your very soul. It lasts much longer this time before the feeling fades once again. A very worrying sign that leaves you weary. (You have a -1 Mod to all rolls for the day) You are currently at 1 HP but not in critical condition. You will regain half of your max health at the end of each phase where you don’t take any damage, so it is recommended that you don’t go to a location where you may end up taking damage. What do you, Vera and Lillian do for your daytime phase?

For the time being, I will have us go to the Hudson Green Apartments district. Specifically, I will ask Lillian to drive us there, seeing as I don't think it would be a good idea to have me go out in public. After that, I will ask her to get me and Vera a motel room, which we will be staying in for the time being. After that, she is to leave and remove herself from the situation for the time being. After we settle down, I am going to try to figure out what the hell this tug on my soul is, and try to dispel it.

Lillian gets the card key from the clerk (She doesn't seem to impressed with you at the moment, given your current situation. But either way she plays along and pays for the room, which is good since neither you nor Vera could afford it right now.) and hands it to Vera so you and her can get into the room. After some time of studying what seems to ail you, you realize what it is, for you are intimately familiar with this type of effect. A curse has been set on your soul. Tomorrow by midnight your soul will be torn from your body and be dragged into the underworld. Your Phylactery may be able to prevent this from occurring, but you honestly aren't certain. If you are in your regenerative state, however, you know for a fact that it will not be able to stop the curse from tearing you from this world, so it is of the utmost importance that you stay in this form until tomorrow at midnight or you will surely be permanently eliminated. As for how to get rid of the curse... That is a difficult process. You do not believe that any old item in a magic store would be able to help you. The priests might've been able to, but that seems unlikely at the moment... At that point, the easiest way would be to figure out who put the curse on you and eliminate them. Also account for an extra phase of figuring out how to counteract their effect once they are eliminated. Curses of this strength are generally placed when the caster has direct access to someone's personal items or their essence. (Do you have any questions regarding this?)

(So as for the treasure, it is hard to say, given that you only know the location of any of your cursed treasure, and being able to tell if there are now 8764 coins in circulation vs yesterday's 9123 coins is a hard guess, so you're honestly unsure. You can tell that obviously the majority of your coins are with The Broker in the park, a large chunk seem to be on the move out the city and another large chunk is in a building in Craig Hill. As for The Immortal Tyrant, it most certainly could qualify for something like this, and given its size, if someone decided to take the time to harvest it they could probably do this multiple times using its "corpse".)

(I would imagine something to that effect, yes. Someone could take time to cast something similar to gentle repose on it to prevent this effect, but that requires them to have done that in advance)

What do you do as this happens?

(You could take some moments to go against the wall and try and listen, sure.) (As for your second question I would imagine yes, but you would essentially open up a large hole into the sewers that others could follow you through. But you could definitely do that if you roll high enough.)

We are going to start running down a random direction, but as we do, Davey is going to channel a large stream of sewer water up the hole he just made, partially to obscure the vision of anyone who would try to look down, but mainly to imped anyone who would try to follow us the same way we went.

To clarify, when I say stream, I mean a active stream that won't end for a while.

(Should I roll or will you do it for me?)

(Not sure if you have a reason for wanting to keep me out of roll20 or not.)

However, as you run down the sewers, you hear what sounds to be footsteps echoing from the tunnel in front of you. Do you do anything or do you continue down the same path?

Realizing that the sound is coming from in front of him, Davey will stop his and Vera's run, have them start running back the other direction, and collapse the ceiling in the direction of the footsteps.

(Fair enough.) You successfully cause a stream to block the sewers in the direction of the footsteps. As you pass through the stream, you can hear voices coming from the room, sounds like two men talking. "Ah, that's revolting! That damn Pirate will literally sink to any depths just to get us off his tail!" "That's enough. We have a job to do, and Davey will pay for what he has done." "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I just hate the smell, you know?" "Indeed." "Oh well, here goes..." (You get the impression that they intend to try and break through your water stream)

As Davey and Vera passes through the stream, he is going to start cackling somewhat quietly (or at least, comparatively quietly compared to the stream of water next to him), and with a gesture of his hand, he is going to try to increase the force of the stream as they try to enter it, basically aiming to push them back further and possibly maim them as he does so. He will be doing this, all while staying on the move.

You can hear gurgling noises coming from above as you increase the pressure from the stream. However, both the shapes manages to push their way through, albeit barely, and emerge from the stream. You see the Half-orc Fighter from earlier and the Cleric. The half-orc is catching his breath, almost hurling from the stench, but the cleric stands stoically with his hammer and shield and stares you down. "Halt, villain! You know full well that you cannot run from the Magus Organization! Come with us willingly and we will try you in the Court of Mages, or fight us and perish!" "Yeah... What he said" The half-orc says as he gathers his composure.

(At this point you are basically at Melee range with them.)

"Ye justice," Davey says, placing Vera behind him protectively, grinning coldly at the two men before him. "Is a bad joke." And as he says that last part, he will try to collapse the ceiling right above the men as he tries to roll out of the way with Vera. Failing to roll out of the way himself, he will try to settle either pushing Vera out of the way at his own expense or at the very least try to shield her with his body if need be.

(This is going great. Because this is exactly what I wanted to spend Davey's night doing...)

This time you're unable to collapse the entire top of the sewers, but you tear off some large chunks and cause it to fall on your pursuers. The cleric uses his shield to bash away the debris, but the Fighter, still recovering from the sewer water, takes the hit straight to the head, as he looks a bit woozy. "Hmph. You have chosen your path.", the cleric says as he attempts to strike you with his hammer (Rolls a 9) The Figher moves instinctively to attack you with his swift attacks like he did before, but he is unable to keep his focus due to the head wound he just took, only able to throw a single punch. (Rolls a 17)

Davey will attempt to block both those attacks with his saber, and if successful, he is going to try to make opposed strength checks to push them back... Specifically, back into the stream of water behind them.

They didn't much care for the Organization much more than I did," Then, smiling cruelly, he says, "Ye must make them so proud." With your last bit of strength, you collapse the ceiling right on top of the Fighter. You push with such force that you bring down a large chunk of the motel with it as a chain collapse occurs, and the Fighter, phased by you words is unable to react to it in time and goes underneath it. You don't expect that to stop him for very long, but you imagine that he might have some trouble getting out, and if nothing else he is probably quite hurt.

Davey tilts his head a bit to the side in curiosity, and then says to the dog, "If ye be with who I think ye may be with, then we have no quarrel," As he says this, he is going to take one slow step backwards, and then another, slowly moving away from the dog, making sure to stare it down as he does. "Give Mr. Blake me regards, if ye can." (Assuming nothing happens, Davey is going to leave.)
