Daytime Phase day 8. You finish restructuring your Servant to be able to take more punishment for you before you head off to sleep. You wake up the next morning, and notice that the rats you’ve put in quarantine seem to be even worse off than before. Trying to exercise direct control works, but even if the rats are given the correct orders they seem unable to perform them correctly. (The one rat swarm has a -2 Mod to all rolls) What do you, your servant and your swarms do for your daytime phase?

(Sure, can probably add 5 per difficulty reached, so in this case it would deal 30 damage with a bleed of 10, with an upper limit of bleed 20 if you keep on improving it.)

(At the end of that target's turn, they take the indicated damage unless they remove it using a status purge action, which is not a great thing to be spending your action on in a turn. It doesn't inflict any additional damage each hit, only re-applies the effect if it has been removed)

(You've got 3 points, where 1 point is presumably used to upgrade damage to 30. You can buy bleeding 4 times, each time adding 5 bleed. Staggering doesn't really makes sense with the weapon, it's more for extremely heavy hammers and such, and immobilizing is a negative trait so probably don't want that one :P)

My plan is as follows. I will send my servant and my roaches to the Count. Meanwhile I will be sending my pidgeons to the location of the artefact. It hasn't been very heavily contested so far, so it'd be worth checking out at the very least. My focus will be on my swarms to make sure that they don't get stolen by all the sigils and shit.

(Theoretically doable, but would limit your capability to direct the swarm. Also uncertain if you would even be eligible for the wish at that point. Gonna have to consider that. Either way it'd be very costly. Think 7+CCPs)

As you and the fellow with the hat stealthily approach the church, you turn a corner and are suddenly met with a terrifying, familiar sight staring right at you.

Neither side is really prepared for it, and there is a moment of silence as each side realizes what is happening. Your Servant is first to act. What does it do? (The creature is located at the end of an alley with an exit on both sides. The buildings on either side are 3 stories tall, and the creature is at Short range.) (edited)

As your Servant goes to attack the creature, you notice from your swarm that your servant acts a little erratically, but in unison, the critters inside shake their heads and proceed to spit acid at the creature. (The attack roll is a nat 1! Cannot be re-rolled!) Their spit is wildly inaccurate, hitting a fire escape which falls down and blocks the alley, making it hard to shoot ranged attacks at the creature just as the other fellow pulls out their gun. It doesn't matter though, as they are unable to pull the trigger, instead holding their head in confusion. "What... Are these... Voices!?" Before you can answer, the creature jumps over the debris and attacks the man, grappling him with its tentacles as he spits out some blood. What do you do?

(Wanna do any of the special attacks? You could swift strike or powerblow. Swift strike being two attacks in one, and powerblow could potentially stagger them, forcing them to miss their turn or be unable to defend for one turn. A special attack gives you a -1 Mod until the end of your next turn)

(Can also feint for an attack that deals less damage but has a higher chance of hitting)

(Cool, will do!) Despite your Servant's quick-acting attack from behind, the creature shrugs it off with its hard tentacles. It can seemingly see in all directions with the eyes on the tentacles. The man struggles to free himself, but is seemingly unable to do so, as the creature tosses him into a wall effortlessly, and he flies straight through it, landing in a pile of rubble. He looks real hurt. The creature turns to face your Servant. What does it do?

(Honestly hard to say. From a metagaming perspective most creatures and mages can defeat each other, though some may be more equipped to do so than others, utilizing various weaknesses or inherent strengths. In this system no battle is unwinnable but you do need good rolls and tactics to win sometimes.)

Your Servant goes in for a strike, but instead of following through, it has a part of itself emerge from within the cloak and strike the creature suddenly and effectively. The blow doesn't have much of an impact, but it seems to start bleeding from it. The man crawls up from the debris, coughing and holding his gut with one arm. With the other he aims his pistol. "I ain't done yet, fiend." And fires. The creature tries to instinctively block with a tentacle but is unable to, and takes the hit, which ignites the creature right at the point of impact, slowly spreading over the rest of it. The creature screams out in pain and attempts to flee. Would you like to prevent it from doing so?

"Good riddance..." *the man says with a pained expression as he crawls out of the hole he had been sent through. He looks very injured but still capable, as he reloads his gun. "Hope there aren't any more of those around."

The two of you head to the back of the church where you saw the entrance to the catacombs with the blue glow coming from it. You see some creatures exiting and you try to time your way down. When you get all the way down you can see a massive, blue portal spewing forth a variety of creatures. You also see a large stone slab with strange-looking runes carved up into 8 rows. As you look around, another large hoofed creature spews forth from the portal and rams the man your Servant was travelling with. He falls against the wall, lifeless, as the creature runs up the stairs. What do you do? (edited)

Aside from that you see nothing of interest. (The other guy was at least picked up by your mage sight, so presumably yes.)

Your Servant picks up the book and leaves the portal. While travelling back home, you notice that the pigeons pick up another magic signal in the warehouse district. They are quickly able to pinpoint a sharply dressed man with an arsenal of guns on him.

(Indeed! Will be a sight indeed! That being said, it seems like this character is walking at the edge of the district, very cautiously. In the past you've noticed that the beam has shown up almost at the center of the district, so depending on how quick this guy is and how quickly the stitched creature can grab the chest and go, there might not be a fight)

(Yes. Obviously mistakes can happen and info can slip out, but generally speaking players shouldn't be talking with each other about Mage Wars outside of the chats or veeeeery loosely. If you exit the war you will be given info of all the other players who are out and can talk to them freely.)
