Character Summary: Blaine

Blaine is a man of “God”, one evening while praying he was struck by visions, visions he believed came from God but it was in fact from an otherworldly being simply known as Zhograith the Divine. This meeting broke Blaine’s mind and madness fell upon him but not before Zhograith made him a thrall and granted him the power to do it’s bidding, even sending one of it’s spawn to “protect” the man, Blaine simply believes it’s an angel from God there to help him spread the great one’s blessing with the rest of the population.

Character Info

Blaine has access to Corruption magic and Decay magic, making him a versatile fighter with a lot of potential to weaken other Mages without needing to get close.

He suffers from Madness, which means he will occasionally get a word or a sentence that he has to weave into his weekly summary in one way or another. He also has access to a “unique” newspaper which conveys very different news to what the other players can see. Sometimes for the better, but often for the worse.

In addition to this, Blaine has access to a unique alternative win condition, which involves him summoning his “God” into Maineral, by fully corrupting 7 sub-districts and conducting a ritual. If this ritual isn’t stopped, the God enters the world and all other player characters die (Shortly followed by Blaine, most likely, but it still counts as a win!)

Blaine has an otherworldly Servant with the ability to induce madness into anyone attempting to attack it, making it difficult for opponents to deal with it at short range. In addition, it is a capable fighter without needing to rely on magic, of which it has none.

It does come with its own set of drawbacks, however. For one, Blaine has a relatively low chance of actually controlling the thing, often leaving its decisions up to his “God”. In addition, it cannot exist in an area that has no corruption, meaning Blaine needs to seed the map with corruption before he can unleash his Servant fully.

Spawns of Zhograith are fickle beings, they hate taking orders from those they don’t believe will carry their creators will forward sufficiently.
There have been plenty of times where they have even outright killed the ones summoning them if they see no worth in those humans, then immediately going about spreading madness and some small amounts of corruption on their own.

They are built like brutes and will lash out viciously if pressed enough but if they can avoid fighting they prefer to do just that and scheme, albeit badly, from the sidelines, but they are weak with corrupting and almost all of their madness inducing powers requires them to be seen by the victims, makes it hard for them to be sneaky about their missions, which is why Zhograith tasks humans with those parts, wich it’s spawns dislike.

If a bond can be made between those chosen by Zhograith and it’s spawn, madness and corruption will engulf the world quickly.
